Wallpapering around windows – how to, step by step

Apply glue with a brush to the surface to be wallpapered, and also a little further out on the window or door lining. The wallpaper will cover any gaps.

Pull up the wallpaper to the correct position. Pattern match against the previous strip if using patterned wallpaper. Want to know more about pattern matching? Read our guide: Pattern matching of wallpaper

Press the wallpaper lightly with the paperhanging tool against the side of the window or door frame. Then cut an incision towards the corner of the lining with the scissor, to reduce tension in the wallpaper.

Tip!

Then press the wallpaper against the lower and upper window frames and smooth out any air bubbles. Cut the wallpaper against the frames with a paperhanging knife.
