Wrap Christmas presents in personalised packages

Do you want to avoid the old-fashioned Christmas wrapping paper and instead wrap your presents in unique, personalised packages? You can easily do this by painting shoe boxes and storage bins that you already have at home. All you need is paint, roller, brush, masking tape and a little imagination.

  1. 1

    Prime

Start by removing any dirt from the box, so that the paint adheres properly. Prime the box in the desired shade. Use mini rollers for extra fine bases to get the right texture. Let the paint dry thoroughly.

    Mask

Use masking tape to create different patterns and shapes, or to divide the box into different areas. We recommend masking tape that is suitable for sensitive surfaces – it gives razor-sharp edges and does not damage the cardboard. Press the tape firmly so that the paint cannot creep underneath.

    Paint

Paint over the masking tape so that all joints are properly covered. Let dry. Paint once more so that the paint covers really well.

    Tip!

Remove the masking tape before the paint has dried completely.

    Decorative painting

If you have painted the whole box the same color, you can create additional decoration for a unique look. Here are some examples of how you can decorate your package:

    handmålade julklappar

Create a label in a contrasting colour. Use a wide brush.

måla mönster på kartong till julklapp

Paint patterns and figures freehand. Use the precision brush.
